At Worple, we are passionate about developing the child as a whole in a safe and happy environment.
We focus on the child's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, teaching children to be respectful, considerate citizens. We do this by exploring beliefs and experiences, recognising right from wrong, using a range of social skills and participating in cultural opportunities. Children are empowered when discussing their rights and continue to reflect upon their experiences, comparing these to others' within the community and across the world. Themed weeks offer the opportunities to learn about road safety, healthy eating and anti-bullying and children constantly demonstrate Worple's core values throughout the school day.
Pupils are encouraged to voice their opinions, as all are members of the School Council, and they take an active role in their learning and how it is led. Children leave Worple with the skills they need to face challenges in the future and are confident, caring young people with lots to offer!
The DfE have reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs."
At Worple Primary School we uphold and teach pupils about British Values which are defined as:
These values are taught explicitly through Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE), and Religious Education (RE). We also teach British Values through planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
At Worple Primary School we will actively challenge pupils, staff or parents expressing opinions contrary to fundamental British Values, including 'extremist' views.
We strive and collaborate in order to succeed and improve
...for our commitment to competition, school sport and PE...
...for children to develop good speech, language and communication skills.
"...to improve standards, raise achievement and enrich children's educational experiences."
A high level of participation and engagement in active travel across the whole school community.
